About Us

Welcome to the Dialogue Institute Dallas Art Contest, proudly hosted by the Dialogue Institute Dallas (DID). Established in 2002 as a 501C(3) nonprofit affiliated with the Raindrop of Dallas, DID is dedicated to educational, intercultural, and community initiatives.

Our mission is to foster cross-cultural understanding and dialogue by collaborating with diverse volunteers, partners, and organizations to address social issues and build meaningful relationships.

The "Art of Living Together" art contest stands as a testament to our commitment to promoting peace, inclusion, and mutual understanding through the creative expressions of high school and college students in the DFW Metroplex area. This annual event provides a unique platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents and contribute to the broader dialogue on cultural collaboration and positive change.

Dr. Anne Slagel is a dynamic minister who brings an encourager’s heart with an enthusiasm that spills over to all those around her. She eagerly serves our DFW community as chaplain to several organizations with a voice that is uplifting and compassionate. Dr. Anne is also a sought-after motivational speaker who challenges you personally while entertaining the audience. After years of developing and directing international women’s conferences, she pursued her goal of becoming a chaplain. Even though that was later in life, she said, “Age is only a number—always reach for your goal.” Anne and her husband, Gary (a former mayor), are part of the respected leaders in their community, yet they are both very approachable and “down to earth.” She is a graduate of Leadership Richardson Class 38.
